Commercially minded and pragmatic, Ed advises clients employment law and other HR issues and is relied on by clients from a range of sectors (including food, charities and family business) as he appreciates that clients need good advice quickly in order to make commercial decisions.

At the outset of a matter Ed strives to really understand the goals of clients and achieve these by providing clear, efficient and effective advice in a timely manner.

Employment law is extremely interesting and fast moving and the opportunity to help clients in a wide variety of sectors achieve successful outcomes is highly rewarding.

Career

A graduate of the College of Law, Ed began his legal career in 2008 working as a Trainee for another local firm.  He joined at Rollits as a Solicitor in the Employment team in 2011 and has been specialising in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters ever since.  Ed was promoted to a Partner in the firm in 2018.

Expertise

Ed has particular expertise in restrictive covenant disputes, complex and sensitive HR issues, TUPE, reorganisation and senior executive terminations and disputes and he works closely with the firm’s corporate team when dealing with contractual negotiations during business sales and acquisitions. He has significant experience in a number of different sectors, in particular, education.
