Craig undertakes a wide range of corporate work, including corporate transactions, reorganisations and demergers, shareholder agreements, incorporations, and banking matters, and also advises on employee share schemes, particularly EMI option arrangements and growth shares.

His extensive experience of corporate work means that he is able to provide an eye to detail in corporate transactions, particularly reorganisations, demergers, etc. as well as in relation to share incentive exercises and pension issues.

Over his career he has worked on a significant number of corporate matters for a wide variety of clients and particularly enjoys drafting corporate legal documents and researching legal issues during the transaction.

Career

Craig holds a BA in Anthropology from The Colorado College, USA. His legal career began in 1990 when he attended the College of Law in York before joining our York office in 1992 to embark upon his Training Contract. He joined the corporate team upon qualifying working on corporate matters, including advising on pensions matters and employment share incentives.

Expertise

Craig also advises on pension matters, with a particular emphasis on pension issues in corporate transactions. This involves due diligence work, negotiating pension aspects of corporate transactions (including warranties and indemnities and pensions provisions) and issues relating to Pensions Regulator clearance.

Craig acts for clients in the education and charities sectors, particularly in relation to public sector pension issues on transfers to contractors including Admission Agreements and on incorporation, reorganisation and mergers of charities.

He also acts for trustees of pension schemes advising on a number of issues, including retirement and appointment of trustees and on benefit questions.
