Another successful golf day as local charities take a slice of the proceeds

Rollits has continued itstradition of uniting the local business community and raising moneyfor a good cause with its 27th Annual Charity GolfDay.

Teeing off at Brough Golf Clubon Thursday 2 July, businesses including MKM, Plaxton and Needlers,came together to raise more than £3,500 for two local charities,the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and Dove House Hospice.

Businesses from across theregion entered a team to play in this annual medal competition. Theeventual winner was Needlers (Alistair Needler, Jonathan Kay, NickSangwin and Richard Johnson) with a score of 123, which is 13 underpar.

TheMuscular Dystrophy Campaign is the leading UK charity focusingon muscle disease. It has pioneered search for treatments and curesfor over 50 years and is dedicated to improving the lives of allchildren and adults affected by muscle diseases.

Dove House Hospice providespalliative care to people who have a life limitingillness.

Speaking after the event, Richard Field, senior partner at Rollits,said: "The day is always a great occasion and what started out as afundraising event has now become a highlight in the local golfingcalendar.

Congratulations to theNeedler's team on their success today, but it's clear that the realwinners are the two charities.

"We look forward to seeingeveryone back again next year, in what will be Rollits 175thAnniversary year. "
