Rollits has continued its tradition of uniting the local business community and raising money for a good cause with its 27th  Annual Charity Golf Day.

Teeing off at Brough Golf Club on Thursday 2 July, businesses including MKM, Plaxton and Needlers, came together to raise more than £3,500 for two local charities, the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and Dove House Hospice.

Businesses from across the region entered a team to play in this annual medal competition. The eventual winner was Needlers (Alistair Needler, Jonathan Kay, Nick Sangwin and Richard Johnson) with a score of 123, which is 13 under par.

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is the leading UK charity focusing on muscle disease. It has pioneered search for treatments and cures for over 50 years and is dedicated to improving the lives of all children and adults affected by muscle diseases.

Dove House Hospice provides palliative care to people who have a life limiting illness.

Speaking after the event, Richard Field, senior partner at Rollits, said: "The day is always a great occasion and what started out as a fundraising event has now become a highlight in the local golfing calendar.

Congratulations to the Needler's team on their success today, but it's clear that the real winners are the two charities.

"We look forward to seeing everyone back again next year, in what will be Rollits 175th Anniversary year. "
