Emma has over 20 years’ experience of dispute resolution work, offering advice on a variety of risks in areas such as commercial contracts, insurance, professional indemnity (in particular construction and legal professionals), product liability, consumer protection, intellectual property, data protection and debt recovery.
Teamwork, adaptability, flexibility and technical knowledge are keywords that consistently appear in feedback from her colleagues and clients.
A graduate of the University of Oxford, Emma spent the first 10 years of her career working in the Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution team within one of Ireland’s leading law firms in Dublin before moving to Yorkshire where she has spent the last 12 years working in general practice.
Having acted for both Defendants and Claimants allows her to see claims from both sides and ensures that the arguments put forward are proactive not reactive, and the requirement for alternative dispute resolution skills are utilised to ensure client focused results of the highest standard.
Emma enjoys working “with” clients rather than “for” them, identifying with their individual needs and priorities and adapting the approach implemented to each instruction accordingly, whilst ensuring compliance with all aspects of SLAs. Her ability to rapidly identify core issues and optimum outcomes without losing exceptional attention to detail is central to all aspects of her work.
