Alison is an experienced family lawyer having specialised in the field for 20 years. With particular experience in family business and farming., she has a pragmatic, level headed approach and works closely with colleagues and other professionals to help separating couples.

Whether helping to sort out co-parenting arrangements for children or handling disagreements over the division of finances, Alison combines strong legal knowledge with a focus on reaching solutions rather than creating problems. She adopts an empathetic, sensible, detailed and positive approach to matters in order to achieve the best possible outcome.

Alison is passionate about being part of the process of rebuilding lives after a significant event in the family or helping clients plan for their futures.

Alison is also a member of Resolution, an organisation for professionals who specialise in family law matters. Resolution is committed to working in constructive and non-confrontational ways in order to resolve disputes, produce outcomes and provide support for separating families and children.

Career

Prior to joining Rollits in 2012, Alison trained and worked at another local law firm for 10 years. Leaving in 2017 for two years to work for Humberside Police she re-joined the firm in 2019. Alison heads up the Family Law team and was promoted to Partner in May 2022. She has a strong connection to the local area and loves being able to help members of the local community through her family law practice.

Expertise

She deals with all issues arising on divorce and separation including financial disputes, child arrangements, and Pre and Nuptial Agreements as well as advising couples on Cohabitation and Separation Agreements.

Alison has extensive mediation experience and is committed to promoting mediation as a constructive means to resolve family disputes. She is undertakes all types of family mediation including direct consultation with children and publically funded mediation work. Alison is also a Collaborative Practitioner.
