Increase in Family Court fees from 1st May 2024

Family court fees have remained unchanged since 2021 however it has been confirmed that from 1 May 2024 they are to increase.

The increases apply to applications to the court in relation to both financial and children matters.

The court fee for making an application for a Financial Order, currently £275, will rise to £303 and the fee for lodging an agreed Consent Order in financial matters will rise from £53 to £58.

The court fee for making an application for a Child Arrangements Order to settle where children should live and what time they should spend with the non-resident parent will rise from £232 to £255.  Applications for other orders relating to children, eg Prohibited Steps Orders, to prevent one parent from taking a certain action, and Specific Issue Orders, to resolve issues such as which school the children should attend, will also be subject to this fee increase.

The costs of an application for divorce will remain unchanged from the current fee of £593.
