The bike ride, which is set to take place on 26th and 27th September, will see the enthusiastic cyclists peddle their way from Bowness on Solway to Tynemouth riding along the Hadrian's Wall Cycleway. Part of the gruelling 101 mile route will take in the steepest built cycle path in England.

The team taking part is made up of Chris Crystal, who organised the event, David Myers, David Hextall, Neil Franklin, Tom Milner, Keith Benton, Ed Heppel, Julian Wild, David White, Nasim Sharf and Sam East, with Mark Dixon driving the support vehicle alongside the cyclists.

Chris Crystal said: "We are all excited about doing this route and we intend to thoroughly enjoy it. Whilst our colleagues back at the office will be enjoying coffee and cakes as part of Macmillan's big coffee morning on Friday, we will be pushing ourselves to reach our stop-over near Haltwhistle on Friday night!

"We have received fantastic support and encouragement from our colleagues, friends and family and we hope to raise as much cash as we can for Macmillan."

The team have set up a web page at  where members of the public can log their support and help with the fund raising efforts.

Chris added: "Macmillan Cancer Support is a very worthwhile charity so we hope people will really get behind us and support our efforts."
