Rollits gains more recognition as a leading regional law firm

Nine Partners from Rollits have been named as "leaders in their field" in the latest edition of Chambers UK - the definitive guide to law firms in the UK.

And for the first time the Education team has been highlighted nationally as a "Recognised Practitioner" (an accolade bestowed on firms that are acknowledged as being active in this practice area) for their knowledge and work in the Education Sector.

The firm was also praised for the depth and variety of services it offers to clients and received rankings in nine different areas of law within the publication, two of which were "top-tier" rankings for Corporate/M&A and Social Housing.

For more than twenty years, Chambers has published their directory of the legal profession identifying the leading lawyers and law firms in the UK through independent and objective interviews with thousands of lawyers and their clients.

Those singled out for praise in this year's directory are:

John Lane who heads the firm's private capital department.  John received a top ranking for his work in the private client arena and the publication highlights Clients appreciate his client care skills as well as his ability to present both sides of an argument in an unthreatening way."

George Coyle and Ralph Gilbert were both acclaimed for their work in litigation.  Noted as key individuals, Chambers states "George Coyle is a leading practitioner who is praised for his mediation and communication skills. His broad practice includes regulatory, licence and trade disputes. One source rates him as a master of his trade. As a leading light of litigation, Ralph Gilbert earns praise as a commercially pragmatic practitioner."

Within the corporate team, three Partners receive nominations.  "The highly reputed Stephen Trynka leads on many of the firm's key deals and is praised by peers and clients alike for his considerable corporate know-how."

"Managing partner Richard Field  is a key member of the corporate and commercial team, with experience in sectors such as food, media and education. He scores points with clients for his responsive and diligent manner."

A new entry to the ranking, Nasim Sharf is described as "a prompt and friendly lawyer who instils confidence in his clients. A qualified tax adviser, he frequently advises on corporate transactions and restructurings."

The directory goes on to say that Rollits Corporate team "has the ability to understand a brief very quickly, to think through possible outcomes and to be creative."

Neil Franklin was recommended for his work in the agricultural sector and a top ranking was also given to Keith Benton for his work in Information and Keith is praised for being client-friendly and commercially savvy, up to date and well rounded."

Respected employment litigator Ed Jenneson is hailed by clients as forward-looking. He understands what the requirements are and then sees them through. He is flexible and nothing is too much trouble for him."

Clients also praised the employment team with the quote "The team has always been professional, quick and responsive. Their advice was constructive and well researched. They are always happy to have a dialogue on our options and their fees are reasonable as well."

Within the Social Housing category, Rollits is the only firm in the York, Hull and surrounding areas to be recommended as a leading law firm because "One of their strengths is their ability to set out complex issues, the risks and the different interpretations in a coherent manner."

Elsewhere in the guide, the firm was also ranked in the fields of Banking and Finance - "The solicitors I work with are all very knowledgeable, both generally and regarding my firm. They are helpful and use a language which is understandable." and Construction.
