Rollits Education Team advises Leeds City College on restaurant joint venture with Flannels

The Education Team at Rollits, which has been recommended for its expertise in the sector in the latest edition of The Legal 500, has assisted Leeds City College on a joint venture to operate a high end restaurant at Flannels` store on Vicar Lane in Leeds.

Located on the top floor, The Food Academy at Flannels is operated with the help of the College`s most talented catering and hospitality students. After completing their training with the College, those students who have excelled in the kitchen and front of house have the opportunity to be employed as apprentices at the restaurant, providing invaluable industry experience in a professional, high quality environment.

Jane Pither, Leeds City College`s Deputy Principal Corporate Services and Resource Management, who led on the project for the College, commented:

"The team at Rollits understood the College`s vision to give our students a fantastic opportunity to gain first-hand experience in a professional restaurant environment in the heart of the city. Working as part of the College`s team, Rollits really supported us in bringing together all the elements of the joint venture so that we were able to complete the matter in quite a tight timeframe. The restaurant is now running well and the feedback from students and customers has been overwhelmingly positive."

Commenting on the venture Tom Morrison, Partner at Rollits and head of the Education Team, said:

"We were delighted to help bring this ambitious project together. We pulled together expertise from a number of the lawyers in our highly regarded Education Team to make sure that the outcome matched the College`s vision. We are very proud to have played a part in helping the College to secure for its students a unique opportunity which I know they are embracing with enthusiasm."

As part of our support for this exciting venture, and to celebrate the latest seasonal menu at The Food Academy at Flannels, Rollits is offering the opportunity to five readers of this article to obtain a £10 refund on their food bill at the restaurant. To be in with a chance please send in a copy of your restaurant receipt to Tom Morrison ( with your name and contact details.
