‘In the Spotlight’ with Lilly Walker
We spoke to our new Family Solicitor Lilly Walker and asked her some questions to get to know her better.
What connects you to East Yorkshire?
I was born in East Yorkshire and lived here all my life. I now live in Hessle.
Tell us about your family?
I live with my Husband, Matt, our son and our dog, Vinnie. I am very close to my family who all live locally so I spend a lot of time with them.
Why did you decide on a legal career?
I did an A-Level in law and really enjoyed it. Then after a few work experience placements in local firms I decided law was the career for me.
What do you do in your job as a Solicitor?
I advise and represent clients in relation to divorce, financial issues arising from relationship breakdown, child arrangements and family injunctions.
What is the best piece of advice you have received so far in your career?
To trust in your own abilities but never be afraid to ask a question if you are unsure.
If you could invite three people to dinner (dead or alive) who would they be?
Taylor Swift, Michael McIntrye and Walt Disney.
What is the last film you watched?
Home Alone – it’s my favourite Christmas film, I watch it every year!
What’s your perfect holiday destination?
A relaxing beach holiday with great food and cocktails.
What makes Yorkshire special?
The countryside, the Yorkshire coast and a good cup of tea.
