New arrangement for reporting of injuries and incidences

From 12 September 2011 the Health & Safety Executive have confirmed that reportable injuries and incidents will be indicated to them via a predominantly on-line system.

Seven forms will be available to make the statutory reporting process quick and easy. It will still be possible to report by telephone fatal and major incidents and injuries. The new forms will be those for reporting an injury, reporting a dangerous occurrence and reporting a case of disease and other more specific forms.

It is of course a statutory requirement that those injuries and incidents which fall within the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 have to be reported. It is not optional!
