Education Training Workshop: Suspensions and Exclusions (Hornsea)

June 27, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

A practical workshop to highlight the legal process around suspensions and exclusions in the education sector.

School leaders only suspend students as a last resort, and they do so with a heavy heart. However, when the decision is about permanent exclusion, those with statutory responsibility must have a detailed understanding of the process, their duties within it, and the parameters for decision-making. This is to ensure that the process is in line with the law and that reputational risk is well managed.

As this is a rare occurrence for most schools, it is recommended good practice that those involved (Senior Leaders, Headteachers, Governors and Trustees) receive regular updates and training.

Come and join us for this informative session which will highlight the legal process and ensure attendees receive some top tips about how to conduct themselves to avoid the common pitfalls.
