Overview

Whether as a result of economic factors or the health crisis affecting your day to day operations, the challenges that businesses are facing in the current unprecedented circumstances can be disruptive, severe and extensive.

The priority for every business during the COVID-19 outbreak is, of course, the health, safety and welfare of its employees and associates but the knock-on impact of the crisis is likely to touch almost every part of your business. So it’s no surprise that many businesses are, understandably, struggling to navigate the current situation whilst facing the uncertainty of what the future may hold.

Our experience

Since the government imposed measures to place the country in lockdown, we have advised and supported many businesses and individuals in relation to a number of common concerns. These include the implementation and review of furlough of staff, the impact and consequences of contracts that can no longer be fulfilled, the necessary steps to be taken to ensure that workplaces remain safe for employees who must continue to attend, supply chain issues (in either direction), the increased risk of GDPR breaches as a consequence of home working, the considerations for landlords and tenants in relation to the provisions in a lease, the consequences on contracts that are heavily regulated and have strict timescales, such as construction contracts and unfortunately, in some cases, the requirement of advice in relation to insolvency or redundancy.
