Rollits help Cooplands of Scarborough expand
Local baker`s success is a boost for the region`s
Rollits has advised Coopland & Son (Scarborough) Limited
on their recent acquisition of 18 Woodheads shops.
When Cooplands secured a deal earlier this month to take over
18 of the Woodhead bakery shops after they fell into
administration, it marked another step in the success of the
company and excellent news for the economy of Hull & the East
Since opening their first store in Scarborough back in 1885,
the business has expanded to cover an area stretching from
Lincolnshire to Teesside, and from the East coast to Leeds. Now
with 111 shops and 9 cafes, Cooplands is one of the region's

Nasim Sharf, corporate partner at Rollits who led the deal
said "We have a strong association with Cooplands and this was an
excellent opportunity to work together again to secure some of the
Woodheads` bakery stores.
"We helped them acquire 10 shops in Leeds from Ainsleys last
year and in 2007 and also when they took over Skeltons in Hull with
a large production site and additional 35 shops."
Coopland`s Managing Director and great grandson of the
company`s founder, Paul Coopland said "We are thrilled that in
these difficult economic times we are able to expand our number of
stores, reaching increasing numbers of customers and creating
employment opportunities in the region."
Rollits legal team who worked on the deal with Mr Sharf were
Glenn Craft (property) and Julian Wild (food).
