I spent two weeks experiencing life at Rollits and I have found the placement to be extremely informative and enjoyable. I spent most of my time in the York office which I found to be a friendly and close team environment as well as visiting the larger, Hull officer. During my two weeks I talked with different departments to gain an insight to what their typical roles entail and what working for Rollits is like.
I was also given various research to complete as well as assisting lawyers within the property, private client, dispute resolution and commercial departments allowing me to explore how each differed. All of the lawyers were approachable and happy to answer my questions and queries.
The other work placement students and I took part in a marketing exercise, spoke with the practice manager, accounts department as well as the IT department. I think that in today’s world this is necessary for lawyers to have a business mind and thinking about concepts such as utilisation and client care.
Overall I found the placement to be one which I thoroughly enjoyed and highly organised. Rollits is one of the leading, commercial firms and attending their placement has definitely been something that has helped me in my decision for training contracts and something I would recommend students to apply for.
