Chris Platts is head of the Litigation Department.
Chris has been involved in health & safety law for over 20 years. During that time he has represented a whole host of clients ranging from individuals to nationalised industries. His present clients number among them a multinational company, major plc's, small and medium sized businesses together with individuals. He regularly advises clients on the health & safety implications of accidents, particularly fatal accidents and has dealt with many inquests and prosecutions arising out of fatal accidents. Chris has advised numerous clients on strategies following accidents, particularly with regard to possible prosecutions. He has advised clients on the powers of the Health & Safety Executive and other enforcing authorities, including those relating to interview of companies suspected of committing health & safety offences. Chris regularly advises clients on their health & safety documentation, including health & safety policies, and health and safety duties generally. Chris also has extensive experience of handling all types of claims for damages including those involving catastrophic injuries and industrial diseases.
Chris has been mentioned individually for the last 2 years as a Health & Safety Lawyer in the Legal 500, the client's guide to the legal profession. Chris is a founder member of the Health & Safety Lawyers Association.
